Happy New Year! I hope you had a good time with family and friends over the holidays, and were able to rest and do some things that bring you joy. Our Christmas didn’t go according to plans, as my husband came down with Covid (he is fully recovered now) shortly before we were to leave to go see my parents out of state. So we had to pivot and stay home. However, Christmas wasn’t totally disappointing as we adopted a sweet little Pug through a local rescue group. Her name is Millie, and she has been a delight! She is about 2 years old and bonded instantly with our 17 year-old daughter, who desperately wanted another pet after we had to put down our beloved Pug, Maggie, one year ago.
This week is my turn to be the hostess at Freshly Made Sketches, which means I get to design the sketch. I always love a collage for a focal point, so that is what I went with. I used squares and rectangles, but feel free to use whatever shapes you’d like.
I didn’t even enter my craft room over the break, but it felt so good to get back in there this week and be creative again. I played with some new Valentine’s stuff from the Sweet Talk suite.
I started by cutting out some squares and rectangles from various colors of card stock that are in the Sweet Talk dsp. I then cut out some of the conversation hearts from one of the sheets of dsp and arranged them all on a piece of white card stock which was cut out using a die from the Scalloped Contours dies. I stamped off some circle splats from the coordinating stamp set before adhering the focal images.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
